Squam Lake

The Squam Lakes area might be best known for being the setting for On Golden Pond. Wonderfully scenic and peaceful, the Squam Lakes (Squam Lake and Little Squam) border Moultonboro, Center Harbor, Holderness, Sandwich, and Ashland.

Squam Lake is an expansive 6,791 acres, with a maximum depth of 96 feet and an average depth of 36 feet. Little Squam is 408 acres, with a maximum depth of 84 feet and an average depth of 23 feet.

The Squam Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and the Squam Lakes Association both have very informative websites filled with area information, links, and history.
